Kalshi
How we read it
Kalshi is a US exchange regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Designated Contract Market [1].
Predictmoni reads Kalshi's public API one series at a time.
Is Kalshi regulated?
Yes. Kalshi is regulated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a Designated Contract Market, an exchange designated to trade futures, swaps and options.
Kalshi says the CFTC is its regulator. It describes a Designated Contract Market as a financial exchange designated to trade futures, swaps and options on commodities [1].
How Predictmoni reads Kalshi's catalogue
Predictmoni requests Kalshi's series list, which returns every series in one response. It then asks for open markets one series at a time.
On 2026-09-25, one request to Kalshi's series endpoint returned 14,388 series with no page cursor [6].
Each series carries its category, tags, settlement sources and fee settings [6].
Sports was the largest category, with 3,781 series [6].
Why Predictmoni skips Kalshi's full market list
Kalshi's open-market list is dominated by auto-generated combo markets. Most have no trades, so a full walk wastes requests on empty markets [7].
Kalshi describes its multivariate events as combo events that are created dynamically [10].
On 2026-09-25, the first 1,000 open markets returned all had tickers starting with KXMVE [7].
More than 980 of those 1,000 markets had zero volume [7].
How Kalshi formats prices
Kalshi sends prices as dollar strings with up to four decimal places. A value of 0.4100 means 41 cents, not 0.41 cents [5].
Price fields end in _dollars and hold fixed-point strings such as "0.1200" [5].
Kalshi notes that integer-cent fields cannot show sub-cent prices. The _dollars fields are the ones to read [5].
Does Kalshi show order book depth?
Yes. Kalshi's order book lists the number of contracts at each bid price, for both the YES side and the NO side.
Each bid is a pair of price and contract count [4].
Kalshi returns bids only. A YES bid at X is the same as a NO ask at $1 minus X [4].
Market listings also carry top-of-book size in yes_bid_size_fp and yes_ask_size_fp [7]. That is why Kalshi rows on Predictmoni can show size.
Fees
Kalshi charges a trading fee on orders that match right away. The fee depends on the price and the number of contracts [2].
How does Kalshi calculate its trading fee?
Kalshi's general fee is 0.07 times contracts times price times one minus price, rounded up. Some markets carry a different multiplier.
The published formula is fees = round up(M × 0.07 × C × P × (1 − P)). M is a multiplier that defaults to 1 [2].
At a 50-cent price and a multiplier of 1, 100 contracts pay $1.75 in fees, the top of the curve [2]. One contract at 50 cents pays 2 cents, because the fee rounds up [2].
The schedule was last updated and took effect on July 7, 2026 [2].
Kalshi says some markets have different fees, often around special events such as elections or championships [9].
In the series list read on 2026-09-25, about 20 series used a 0.5 multiplier and 14 used 0 [6].
Does Kalshi charge makers?
Usually not. Resting orders pay no fee unless the market lists maker fees. Those use a 0.0175 rate and apply only when the order fills.
Kalshi's maker fee formula is round up(M × 0.0175 × C × P × (1 − P)), with M defaulting to 0 [2].
Kalshi's help centre says maker fees apply only on some markets, and only when a trade executes. Canceling a resting order costs nothing [2][9].
On 2026-09-25, about 160 series carried maker fees, including the Fed series KXFED [6].
Other Kalshi fees
Kalshi charges no settlement fee, no membership fee and no ACH deposit or withdrawal fee. Card deposits can cost up to 2% [2].
Wire and crypto transfers can carry fees from banks or third-party processors [2].
Kalshi computes fees to six decimal places. It adds a small rounding fee to keep each balance on its precision grid [3].
Why does the Kalshi fee matter for price gaps?
Every curated pair on Predictmoni's price-gap board has one leg on Kalshi. A taker pays Kalshi's fee on that leg of each hedge.
The board shows gaps before fees. Check the fee on both legs before you trade.
The live gaps are on the prediction market arbitrage board.
Where it appears on this site
Kalshi supplies all twelve category boards on Predictmoni and one leg of every curated price-gap pair.
The venue index has notes on every venue we read.
Which Predictmoni pages use Kalshi data?
All twelve Predictmoni category boards list Kalshi markets, from crypto and oil to elections and sports. Kalshi also feeds the price-gap board.
The boards cover crypto, oil, metals, weather, AI, politics, elections, economics, financials, entertainment, sports and companies.
Kalshi's weather markets feed the weather board.
Kalshi is not a copy-trading venue
Predictmoni copy trading runs on Polymarket and Predict.fun. Kalshi appears on Predictmoni for prices, category boards and price gaps.
Quirks worth knowing
Kalshi's quirks sit in its ticker names and in how settlement is timed.
Can you build Kalshi weather tickers from a pattern?
No. Kalshi's temperature tickers are inconsistent. Miami is KXHIGHMIA, but Dallas is KXHIGHTDAL, so tickers must be looked up rather than guessed.
KXHIGHMIA and KXHIGHLAX have no T after HIGH. KXHIGHTDAL and KXHIGHTSEA do [6].
A guessed KXHIGHTMIA does not exist in the series list [6].
When does a Kalshi market pay out?
A Kalshi market pays $1 per contract to the winning side. Markets usually settle shortly after expiration, but timing varies by market type.
Timing depends on market type, data source availability and manual review [8].
Only net positions settle [8].
Each series names its settlement source. KXFED names the Federal Reserve Board of Governors [6].
